JAKARTA - In collaboration with the police and the Ministry of Transportation, PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk has forced 4,000 vehicles indicated to be going back and forth to make a U-turn to return to Jakarta. Thousands of vehicles were successfully stopped at the nearest toll gate at the check point Km 31 Cikarang Barat, Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road.

"Of the total 4,003 vehicles transferred, around 3,664 are private vehicles and 339 are passenger vehicles," said General Manager Representative Office 1 Jasamarga Transjawa Tollroad Widiyatmiko Nursejati, in a written statement received by VOI, Thursday, May 21.

According to Miko, this is the highest number of vehicles crossing the toll road since the implementation of transportation controls on April 24. Thousands of these vehicles have also been asked to make a U-turn, because it causes a long traffic jam ahead of the Transportation Control check point at Km 31, Cikarang Barat.

"The queue before the check point is of course because the police will check the travel documents one by one, in accordance with the requirements of the COVID-19 Task Force. If someone does not meet the travel requirements, they will be taken out to the nearest toll gate, GT Cikarang Barat 3," he explained.

In addition, Miko explained, officers in the field are always aware of the various modes used by the community to get around the prohibition on going home.

"Jasa Marga urges toll road users to actively participate in preventing the transmission of COVID-19 by not going home and not having a picnic in Lebaran 2020," he said.

In addition, said Miko, people need to limit travel and maintain distance, leave the house only for urgent situations and must wear a mask if they have to do activities outside the home.
