This Campus Offers Students To Get Two Degrees At Once

JAKARTA - The world of education is affected by the corona virus pandemic or COVID-19. Teachers and students alike must carry out learning activities from home.

The COVID-19 pandemic has also forced many study destination countries to close their gates from the outside. This creates obstacles for prospective students and female students who wish to continue their studies abroad.

Seeing this reality, Indonesia International for Life Science (i3L) and i3L School of Business (iSB) offer students the opportunity to take the Double Degree Program. Through this program students have the opportunity to have two degrees at one time.

Students and students can get a UK bachelor's degree or Australian bachelor's degree which is officially accredited and one Bachelor's degree (Strata 1) from i3L.

This program is a series of collaborations between the i3L School of Business (iSB) and the Northern Consortium United Kingdom (NCUK) Universities which allows students to study for the first two years at iSB Jakarta. The student or female student can then enter the third year at NCUK Universities in the UK or Australia.

NCUK Universities include the University of Manchester, University of Leeds, University of Sheffield, University of Bradford, Aston University and others. NCUK Universities also includes well-known universities from Australia such as the University of Western Australia and Swinburne University.

Lydia Karnadi, an i3L lecturer, said that this Double Degree program is the right solution for prospective Indonesian students and female students to achieve an Australian Degree or UK Degree which is more affordable and safer during a pandemic.

"With this program, it can save the cost of studying abroad. Starting from the cost of food, transportation and housing," said Lydia in a written statement, Thursday, May 21.

Lydia who is also the General Manager of Global Health Pharmaceutical (2015-2017) explained that this program is intended to prepare i3L and iSB graduates to have global insight and competitiveness, and be able to work in an international environment both at home and abroad.

The i3L and iSB graduates will have the advantages of international networking that can be gained from the domestic study experience with international curriculum standards.

This program is designed for international students to adapt more easily to overseas education. This can also train one's self-confidence, students will be more confident with stable language skills, and understand the international teaching and learning system.

"Therefore, prospective students and female students who have not been able to continue their studies abroad, don't be discouraged. Because there are still ways to get two degrees through i3L," said Lydia.
