JAKARTA - A young man with the initials MF (22) was arrested by police in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, for spreading hoax information about the COVID-19 vaccine on social media. According to Antara, Sunday, June 27, Kendari Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP I Gede Pranata Wiguna said MF spread hoax via voice recording on WhatsApp stating that there were victims as a result of vaccination activities organized by the Kendari Police. "Don't go to the Resort Police, all the children there are possessed by noodles, all of them have been vaccinated, vomit yellow, some are foaming at the mouth, all run away first. , shift all noodles first," said MF in his voice recording that was spread on social media.

There is also according to Indra who passed on hoax information by saying that after being vaccinated, it is recommended to drink coconut water so that the vaccine does not react.

Suddenly the voice recordings that were spread across several WhatsApp groups went viral and caused a public stir. The police, who were aware of the circulation of the information, immediately tracked down the whereabouts of the perpetrators. It didn't take long for MF to be found and immediately taken to the Kendari Police for safekeeping. "Yes, that's right, the perpetrators who spread hoaxes said that many victims were due to the vaccine at the Kendari Police. Gede added that the perpetrator was only temporarily detained, but on condition that he must provide clarification regarding the false information that was spread.
