COVID-19 Update As Of June 26: New Cases Reach 21,095, Highest In DKI 9,271 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 135,634 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 21,095 new positive cases of COVID-19.

Today's new cases are the highest number during the pandemic. Previously, the most daily COVID-19 cases occurred on June 24 with 20,574 cases.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 2,093,962 people and 194,776 active cases", according to data from the Ministry of Health, Saturday, June 26.

Today's recovered cases increased by 7,396 cases, bringing the total to 1,842,457 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 358 people and a total of 56,729 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 9,271 cases and a total of 510,667 cases. Followed by West Java which has 3,787 new cases with a total of 364,315 cases. Central Java has 2,305 new cases and a total of 244,241 cases. Then, East Java has 989 new cases and a total of 168,795 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 2,275 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 1,196 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 578 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 569 recovered cases.

There is one province that reported no new cases today, namely North Kalimantan. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 19,419,298.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 33.3 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 129,071 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Furthermore, currently, 26,032,131 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 13,018,524 of the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the total target of vaccination stages 1 and 2 reached 40,349,049 people.
