BPKP Audit Results Find State Losses Of Rp10 Billion In Aceh Scholarship Case, Members Of DPRA Are Examined By Police

BANDA ACEH - State financial losses from the alleged corruption case of Aceh scholarships reached Rp10 billion. This calculation is based on the audit results of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) representing Aceh.

"The fact that we get from the evidence we have is more than Rp10 billion, out of a budget of more than Rp21 billion," said Head of BPKP Aceh Representative Indra Khaira Jaya, quoted by Antara, Friday, June 25.

Previously, the Aceh government in 2017 allocated a budget of more than Rp21.7 billion for scholarships for study program students ranging from diploma three to doctoral or S3.

The scholarship budget is placed in the Aceh Human Resources Development Agency (BPSMD). The scholarships were distributed to 803 recipients with the realization reaching Rp19.8 billion.

Indra said the results of the BPKP audit would immediately be submitted to the Aceh Regional Police next week, this is because there are still core attachments that must be signed by all teams conducting the audit.

"Incidentally, this is just a technical problem, if it has been signed on Monday, it can be submitted to the Aceh Police," he said.

Indra added that the results of the BPKP audit were carried out to assist the investigative team in the law enforcement process, starting from investigations, investigations to prosecution in court.

In this case, the findings of the Aceh Inspectorate stated that the scholarship came from the proposal of 24 members of the Aceh DPR. The number of recipients reached 938 students, consisting of 825 recipients of proposals from members of the Aceh DPR and 86 people who applied independently.

Investigators from the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation at Aceh Police have summoned and questioned six members of the Aceh DPR regarding the investigation into the alleged criminal act of corruption in the scholarship.

There were also six members of the DPRA who were summoned to provide the information, namely AA, AS, HY, IU, YH, and Z.

Investigators from the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation at Aceh Police have also questioned 400 students from 800 recipients of the education fund assistance.
