JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP) Moeldoko appreciated the fast work of Minister of SOE Erick Thohir in guarding the permit for Ivermectin which is a COVID-19 therapeutic drug issued by the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM).

"This is the right step. People can now understand better why I, on behalf of the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Farmers Harmony Association, three weeks ago acted quickly to send Ivermectin to the people in Kudus (Central Java)", said Moeldoko in a written statement received in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Monday, June 22.

This action is based on accurate knowledge and belief in the benefits of Ivermectin which has been proven to reduce the number of sufferers and deaths in India and 15 other countries in the world.

Ivermectin, which was sent by Moeldoko to Kudus Regency on June 7, was immediately distributed by the Regent of Kudus, HM Hartopo, to hospitals and health centers in a total of 2.500 doses.

Moeldoko has distributed tens of thousands of doses of Ivermectin to various red zone locations. Besides Kudus, there are three sub-districts in Semarang, one sub-district in Demak, Sragen, Bangkalan, and Madura.

For West Kalimantan Province, Ivermectin was distributed in Pontianak, Singkawang, Sambas Regency, Bengkayang Regency, Landak Regency, and Sintang Regency.

Moeldoko expressed his gratitude to the Minister of SOEs, the Regent of Kudus, and all regional heads for the trust in using Ivermectin as a therapeutic drug to cure COVID-19.

"We hope that the community can be helped immediately and get out of this pandemic through available cheap drugs", he said.
