JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin fueled the enthusiasm of students at Cenderawasih University in Papua to become a think tank or think tank that works with the government in accelerating the development of Papua and West Papua Provinces.

The vice president hopes that all levels of Cenderawasih University academics will support the Quick Wins program which is designed to accelerate the development of the eastern region of Indonesia.
As Chair of the Steering Committee of the Integrated Coordination Team for the Acceleration of Welfare Development in the Provinces of Papua and West Papua, the Vice President said there were seven programs for the development of Papua and West Papua.
The Quick Wins program is based on these strategic sectors, including Smart Papua, Healthy Papua, Independent Papua, Connected Papua, Bright Papua, Working Papua, Proud Papua, and Green Papua.
Regarding Connected Papua, the Vice President said that the connectivity of transportation routes in Papua is to facilitate access to communication and transportation for the surrounding community.
"Major projects are air bridges, network improvement from the East Palapa Ring, major trans Papua projects to economic centers and the construction of several depots in economic centers," he explained.
The government will provide access to electricity for all regions in Papua and West Papua, as well as work together to build new renewable energy with relevant stakeholders.
"This is in charge of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, PLN, the Ministry of Villages (Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration) and the Ministry of Finance," he said.
The Vice President emphasized that the government will ensure that the acceleration of development in the two provinces can run smoothly, especially with the Presidential Instruction Number 9 of 2020 concerning the Acceleration of Welfare Development in Papua Province and West Papua Province.
