JAKARTA - Chairman of the DPR RI, Puan Maharani, has asked the Secretary General of the DPR to tighten the inspection of guests present at the parliament complex, in order to anticipate the spread of the new variant of COVID-19 in the DPR/MPR/DPD RI building.
"I ask the Secretary General of the DPR to tighten the inspection of guests who come to the DPR," said Puan at the DPR Plenary Meeting, Tuesday, June 22.
He also asked the Secretary General of the DPR to conduct a COVID-19 examination or test for members of the DPR RI, employees of the Secretariat General of the DPR RI, and all employees within the DPR RI.
Puan assessed that the leadership of the Council Equipment (AKD) must immediately respond comprehensively to the outbreak of the new variant of COVID-19, namely Delta, by limiting mobility and tightening health protocols.
"Due to the outbreak of a new variant of COVID-19, the DPR leadership has asked the Council's Equipment to respond comprehensively to limit mobility," said Puan.
This step, he said, was in line with the Government enacting the Implementation of Micro Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) until June 28, 2021, and taking into account the case of the spike in COVID-19 in various regions triggered by the emergence of a new variant of COVID-19, namely Delta.
Puan emphasized that today the Indonesian House of Representatives held the 21st Plenary Meeting while still implementing strict health protocols and limiting attendance in the meeting room.
The DPR Plenary Meeting was attended by 29 members of the DPR physically and 265 people virtually.
