Ganjar Pranowo Ensures Oxygen Supply In Central Java Is Safe

SEMARANG - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo ensured that oxygen supplies for COVID-19 patients being treated at hospitals throughout Central Java were safe and adequate.

"We anticipate that there will be stories about oxygen, I have already called the industry and 'suppliers', we will arrange them so that the regulations are in order. This is important so that yesterday's issue (oxygen supply is running low, ed.) doesn't go anywhere. "There was a lack of oxygen yesterday, I called and I cleaned it up, but maybe my friends panicked, so it has been spread everywhere," he said in Semarang, quoted by Antara, Monday, June 21.

During the online meeting to handle COVID-19 with regents and mayors in Central Java, Ganjar said the demand for oxygen in Central Java was still adequately handled because the stock and supply were sufficient.

"But it was anticipated, if the demand is a bit high, it will be taken from East Java and West Java. It's not difficult, it's just the 'transporter' that has to be discussed. So I just wanted to make sure of that," he said.

In the future, his party will improve regulations related to the supply of oxygen so that it is more organized.

"Later we will involve BUMD, hopefully we can manage. So, every hospital will be able to report at one point so that it really is not difficult. We have discussed it with distributors and agreed," continued Ganjar.

Ganjar received reports from a number of hospitals who were worried about oxygen supply when holding a joint meeting and at that time he asked the Acting Secretary of the Central Java Regional Secretary Prasetyo Aribowo to contact the company and oxygen suppliers in Central Java to participate.

The oxygen company that later joined the meeting was PT Samator, while the oxygen supplier invited to the meeting was from Langgeng Gas.

PT Samator Julianto representative said that the current demand for oxygen is indeed increasing, even in the January-June 2021 period, there have been seven million liters of oxygen ordered.

"Demand is indeed high, but if there is less, we will take it from West Java and East Java," he said.
