MEDAN - Mayor of Medan, North Sumatra Bobby Nasution ensured that the data collection program for the poor was right on target in order to reach many people who needed assistance.

"We have to work quickly and precisely. Because that period of time can determine when this assistance will be distributed to the community," he said at the launch of the data collection on the poor at the East Medan sub-district office, quoted by Antara, Monday, June 21.

Bobby Nasution asked the survey team to conduct a direct inspection of residents' homes, so that residents who were recorded and categorized as poor could be right on target.

This needs to be taken, he said, because many government officials are trapped in legal cases due to social assistance issues.

"Try to eliminate it if there is a deposit, we must dare to state that the data in the field shows that approximately these residents really need it. Because we think that only one family is not capable but can afford it, there is another family who is a victim," continued Bobby Nasution.

President Jokowi's son-in-law is targeting updating the data for the poor to be completed within the next 70 days.

"This is what I want to emphasize, if possible, it will take less than 70 days for this report to be completed," said Bobby Nasution.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Medan City Social Service, Endar Sutan Lubis, said there were around 127,283 who had been recorded in the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS).

"Later, those who have not entered, will be recruited new. The prediction is at 150,000. Because in DTKS, it is not only poor data but also poor data," he said.
