Aide Reveals Juliari Coal's Meeting With Ihsan Yunus

JAKARTA - The witness in the trial of the alleged bribery of social assistance (bansos) Eko Budi Santoso said that there was a meeting between Ihsan Yunus and Juliari Peter Batubara.

The statement was made when Eko was asked by the presiding judge Muhammad Damis about whether there was a meeting or not. Eko was Juliari's aide when he was the minister of social affairs.

"Have you ever seen witness Ihsan come to meet the defendant (Juliari P. Batubara)?" asked Damis during the trial at the Corruption Court, Jakarta, Monday, June 21.

"I remember very well," said Eko.

"Did you see meet?" asked Damis again.

"Meet," said Eko.

Judge Damis then tried to explore Eko's knowledge about the content of the conversation between Ihsan Yunus and Juliari. But unfortunately, Eko said he didn't know what he was talking about.

"Did you join the meeting?" said Damis.

"No," replied Eko.

"Do you know what was discussed at the meeting between witness Ihsan and the defendant?" said Damis.

"No," said Eko.

Hearing that answer, Damis also mentioned about the time in the meeting. Then, Eko said the meeting between the two PDIP politicians took place shortly.

"How long?" he asked.

"Not long, because the minister at that time there will be a field inspection," said Eko.
