DPR Suggests Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory To Be A Place For Isolation Of COVID-19 Patients

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, asked the government to temporarily convert the Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory, Jakarta, as a place for isolation and treatment of COVID-19 patients.

According to Dasco, this step is a form of anticipation so that COVID-19 patients can still be treated because currently the positive number of COVID-19 is increasing.

"I ask the government that Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory be prepared to accommodate COVID-19 patients who are not treated in hospitals. Because this year there will be no hajj activities, so it should be used for other things," Dasco said, quoted by Antara, Sunday, June 20. .

This suggestion was conveyed by Dasco regarding the increasing number of COVID-19 patients in Indonesia, especially in Jakarta and its surroundings. A number of hospitals and isolation places such as Wisma Atlet Kemayoran experienced a surge in patients and threatened not to accommodate which could result in patients not being handled quickly. Dasco said, in its management, Hajj Dormitory will be coordinated directly by the government via the Ministry of Religion and Hajj Hospital. with the central government is still easy and going well," he said.

Dasco's statement was in response to the government's plan to add an isolation place if the Kemayoran Athlete House and a number of hospitals were no longer able to handle COVID-19 patients and Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory could be a solution.
