INDRAMAYU - Spokesperson for the handling of COVID-19 in Indramayu Regency, West Java, Deden Bonni Koswara, said that in a day 13 residents who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 died. This incident is the most during the pandemic.

"Now the patient's condition is rapidly deteriorating, and then he dies," said Deden in Indramayu, quoted by Antara, Sunday, June 20.

With the addition of 13 people who died, so far 263 people have died due to exposure to COVID-19.

In addition, Deden continued, many people hide their illness and also still think they are ordinary sick, even though some have been confirmed positive for COVID-19.

"There are also people who hide their illness because they are afraid of 'COVID-19' or think they are normal," he said.

Deden suspects the emergence of a new variant of COVID-19, because at this time the spread is so fast and even makes the death toll increase.

"Suspicions exist, but no conclusions can be drawn immediately, because the WGS examination must be carried out," he said.
