Annoyed That He Was Given Less Money, This Child Tried To Stab His Mother, His Grandmother Intervened Until She Was Injured

Perpetrators of persecution in Palopo, South Sulawesi/POLICE DOC

JAKARTA - Police arrested a man with the initials JA (20) who tried to abuse his mother with a knife in Palopo, South Sulawesi. When trying to stab, this man's grandmother intervened and instead became a victim of injuries.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Wara Police, Palopo, Ipda A. Akbar, said the arrests were made on Saturday, June 19 evening in East Wara District. The police previously received a report from EP who was a victim of an assault with a knife.

“Initially, the perpetrator asked his biological mother for money to buy deworming medicine but it was not given because the perpetrator asked for it in a rude or high-pitched manner. Then the victim as his grandmother gave money worth IDR 25,00, but the perpetrator did not accept it, considering it was still insufficient", said Ipda Akbar in his statement, Sunday, June 20.

From there, the perpetrator and his mother quarreled over this incident. The suspect then took a knife from the kitchen.

"Then he directed his mother's body, but the victim broke it. However, the kitchen knife hit the victim on the little finger which resulted in slashes", the police continued, citing the victim's statement.

After receiving reports of abuse, the police searched for the perpetrators of JA on Mungkasa Street, Salekoe Village, East Wara. The perpetrators were immediately taken to the Police Headquarters.

"At Wara Police, the perpetrator admitted that he had abused his own grandmother", said Ipda Akbar.
