COVID-19 Update As Of June 19: 12.906 Positive Cases Found, Jakarta Is "Burning"

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released data on the progress of handling COVID-19. Based on the results of the examination of 122.410 specimens per day, 12.906 positive confirmed cases were found.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1.976.172 people", quoted from Ministry of Health data, Saturday, June 19.

Meanwhile, the number of recovered cases increased by 7.016. Thus, the cumulative total recovered cases reached 1.786.143 people.

On the other hand, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 was recorded to have increased by 248 people. With this addition, the cumulative total of deaths to 54.291 people.

Still referring to the data from the Ministry of Health, for the province with the highest number of additional positive cases, DKI Jakarta. It was recorded that 4.895 people tested positive for COVID-19.

Then, the second province with the most positive cases of COVID-19 was West Java with 2.104 cases. Furthermore, Central Java with 1.877 positive confirmed cases of COVID-19.

On the other hand, DKI Jakarta province also has the most recovered cases. Around 2.443 people have recovered from COVID-19.

In the second place, West Java Province with 1.046 recovered cases. Then, Riau Province with 517 cases. Lastly, East Java with 346 cases.

So far, there are 4 provinces that have reported additional cases of less than 10, including Papua, East Nusa Tenggara, West Sulawesi, and Gorontalo. However, not a single province has been recorded without positive cases.

Furthermore, the number of specimens that have been examined has reached 18.560.435. In detail, as many as 15.492.585 specimens were examined using real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), 187.028 specimens using the molecular rapid test (TCM), and 2.880.822 specimens by antigen examination.

"The number of positive results per day with the number of specimens examined (positivity rate) is 29.62 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 118.023 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.
