Early In The Morning, Jokowi Goes To Bogor Station, Reviewing Vaccinations For KRL Users

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo reviewed the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination targeting users of the Commuterline electric train (KRL) service at Bogor Station, Thursday morning.

President Joko Widodo, wearing a white long-sleeved shirt and black trousers, arrived at Bogor Station, at 08:10 WIB.

The President was welcomed by, among others, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, West Java Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General Eddy Sumitro Tambunan, and Bogor Mayor Bima Arya.

The President seemed to chat for a moment with the Minister of Health in the station yard, then entered the station. A review of the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination by the President inside the station, closed for press coverage.

After President Joko Widodo left Bogor Station, Bogor Mayor Bima Arya said the President reviewed the implementation of vaccinations at Bogor Station.

According to Bima Arya, when reviewing the implementation of vaccinations, the President gave directions to the Minister of Health to accelerate the implementation of vaccinations.

"The president asked Jakarta and its surrounding areas, including Bogor City, to accelerate vaccination," said Bima, as quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 17.

The implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination at Bogor Station for the target of 1,500 Commuterline KRL service users. The implementation time is divided into two, namely on Thursday today for 750 people, and Friday (18/6) for 750 people, each starting at 08:00 WIB.

"The KRL service users were chosen as the target recipients of the vaccine, because they are in the category of being vulnerable to being exposed to COVID-19," he said

Bima Arya said KRL service users are residents of Bogor City and its surroundings who work in Jakarta or vice versa, who have high mobility, so they are vulnerable to contracting COVID-19.

"In Jakarta and Bogor, the trend of COVID-19 transmission is increasing again, so it must be anticipated. One of the anticipatory steps is to vaccinate," he said.
