Increased Capacity, Occupancy Of Wisma Atlet COVID-19 Hospital Is Currently 75.05 Percent

JAKARTA - The Coordinator of the Wisma Atlet COVID-19 Hospital Kemayoran, Maj. Gen. Ratmono said that currently the isolation bed capacity of the Wisma Athletes has been increased.

Now, bed occupancy is 75.05 percent with a total of 7.394 beds. Previously, the bed capacity was almost full, which was 92 percent of the total 5.994 beds.

"Current occupancy is 5.551, so this is large enough for hospital treatment, it occupies 75.05 percent, we have increased the capacity of residential beds from 5.994, currently we are preparing an additional 1.400 to 7.394 beds", said the Task Force in a virtual discussion, Wednesday, June 16.

The task saying that this additional capacity was carried out due to the large number of COVID-19 patients who would be isolated at Wisma Atlet every day.

"It is true that approximately this week the increase was between 500 and 600, the highest increase was 3 days ago 625 patients a day", said Task.

The management of the Wisma Atlet Kemayoran has predicted a spike in cases, especially in Jakarta and its surroundings after the Eid holiday this year. Therefore, it anticipates by increasing capacity.

In fact, the occupancy of beds at Wisma Atlet had ramped up, on May 18. At that time, the occupancy of Wisma Atlet was only 900 patients with a capacity of 5.994 or 15.02 percent.

"If it was not added at that time, there would still be 5.994 beds, currently 5.551 patients, imagine this is more than 90 percent. This addition is anticipation to provide services to the community we serve", he said.

"This gives us extraordinary extra work. We have to anticipate this more", he continued.

The details, there are 2.803 women and 2.748 men. They are undergoing isolation in Towers 4, 5, 6, and 7 of the Wisma Atlet COVID-19 Emergency Hospital.

Since being used as a place of isolation on March 23, 2020, until now, the Wisma Atlet COVID-19 Hospital has treated 92.897 coronavirus patients. There were 87.346 discharged patients, with details of 86.334 recovered patients, 920 were referred to other hospitals, and 92 people died.
