Boy Dies After Being Bitten By A Dog In Medan, The Village Head Will Vaccinate Pets

MEDAN - A 10-year-old boy died after being bitten by a dog in Mangga Village, Medan Tuntungan District, Medan City. The case is handled by the police, while the village government is also involved.

The village head of Mangga, Wandro Malau, said that his party immediately vaccinated the residents' pets. Currently, said Wandro, the sub-district has submitted an application to the Medan City Agriculture and Marine Service for the implementation of the vaccination

"We have coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Maritime Affairs of Medan City and as soon as possible we will submit a letter of application to provide vaccines for pets in our village", said Wandro when visiting the house of a child who was bitten by a dog, Wednesday, June 16.

Currently, the Village Head is collecting data on residents' pets for immediate vaccination.

"This includes the Village Head who has recorded the animals to be vaccinated so that as soon as we can determine a point when the officers arrive, we will vaccinate all of them", said Wandro.

He has not received data on the number of dogs or cats that will be vaccinated. However, Wandro ensured that none of his residents raised animals.

"I urge residents who have pet dogs to stay in chains. Take care of their pets together", he appealed.

Previously, a boy named Muhammad Reza Aulia (10) died after being bitten by his neighbor's dog on Sagu Raya Street, Perumnas Simalingkar, Mangga Village, Medan Tuntungan District.

The incident occurred on Thursday, June 10, at around 15:00 WIB. The victim died after getting a wound on the right thigh from a dog bite.

The victim's lawyer, Oky Andriansyah explained, the incident began when the victim passed in front of the dog owner's house. At that time, the dog owner's fence was open.

This issue has been handled by the Medan Police Satreskrim. Deputy Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Medan Police, Kompol Rafles Langgak Marpaung, said that in the future his side would examine several witnesses.

"We will summon several witnesses to be questioned regarding the case", said Rafles, Wednesday, June 16.
