After The Gathering, 17 Untidar Magelang Students Get COVID-19

MAGELANG - At least 17 students from Tidar University (Untidar) Magelang, Central Java, tested positive for COVID-19 after holding a gathering or meeting in Sawangan, Magelang Regency.

Acting Head of the Semarang City Health Office, dr. Intan Suharyati said that initially Untidar Faculty of Engineering students held a meeting in Sawangan on June 4-6, 2021.

Then one of them was symptomatic and did an independent swab, the result was positive.

"After that, 11 people who had close contacts were tested and turned out to be positive," he said in Magelang, quoted from Antara, Monday, June 14.

Then, the puskesmas carried out tracing and repeated PCR swabs for 17 children. The results of the PCR swab of the 17 children were also all positive.

He said as many as 17 students who were positive for COVID-19 were currently undergoing centralized independent isolation at the Borobudur Hotel, Magelang.

"Initially they underwent self-isolation at Mess Bayeman, then moved to the Borobudur Hotel," he said.

Intan said that tomorrow she would again conduct PCR swabs on 117 people at Untidar.

"Yesterday it was written 130 people, but some have been traced, so there are only 117 people. Tomorrow the swab will be centered in Untidar," he said.
