JAKARTA Jonatan Christie responded to the departure of the men's singles coach Irwansyah from the PBSI Cipayung National Training Center after his work contract ended at the end of this year.

Irwansyah confirmed his departure through information to the media that he would not be part of PBSI in 2025 and would coach India.

Jonathan responded to the coach's departure by uploading a photo along with a deep farewell message on Instagram Story.

"Thank you for all the good things and memories that we have been through together so far, I wish you all the best in the future," wrote Jonathan.

Irwansyah left the PBSI National Training Center after eight years of joining. His work contract was not extended so he chose to accept an offer from India.

"My work contract as the men's singles coach with PBSI will be completed by the end of December. I accept job offers as a coach from several countries," he said.

Irwansyah achieved a number of proud achievements while with PBSI. One of them is bringing Jonatan Christie to the All England 2024 champion, ending the men's singles title fast for three decades.

He also brought the men's singles to the Asian Championships for two consecutive years, each through Anthony Sinisuka Ginting in 2023 and Jonatan Christie in 2024.

The other two titles are bringing Alwi Farhan to the men's singles junior world champion and helping the Indonesian team win the Thomas Cup in Denmark to end the 19-year title drought.
