YOGYAKARTA - Patients who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 in Gunung Kidul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, broke a record with a high increase. As of Monday, June 14 today, the number of cases increased by 102.

On Thursday, June 10 last week, there was also a high increase of 86 cases. Whereas compared to the previous day, the average addition was only 15 cases per day. With the addition of 102 patients, the total number of cases in the Gunung Kidul area is 3,725.

"The change in the COVID-19 situation, on June 14, 2021, there were an additional 102 positive cases," said Head of the Gunung Kidul Health Service, Dewi Irawaty in Gunung Kidul, as reported by Antara, Monday.

When confirmed the cause of the high daily addition of cases, Dewi was reluctant to explain further.

Based on data from the Gunung Kidul Health Office, there were 3,725 confirmed cases with details of 586 being treated, 2,976 recovered and 172 died.

Meanwhile, from 586 in treatment, 19.75 percent of active cases. Then the cure rate is 79.43 percent, and the death rate is 4.62 percent.

"We appeal to the public to improve health protocols, by continuing to use masks, maintain distance, and wash hands," he appealed.

Responding to the high daily increase in COVID-19 cases in Gunung Kidul today, Deputy Chairman II of the Gunung Kidul DPRD, Heri Nugroho, proposed that the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19 suppress community activities, ranging from celebrations, apostles, inter-regional competitive sports and tourism to be tightened.

"This policy is for the safety of lives," he said.
