90 Percent Of COVID-19 Patient Isolation Rooms In Indramayu Are Filled

INDRAMAYU - Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Task Force for Indramayu Regency, West Java, Deden Bonni Koswara said that currently the occupancy rate of the isolation room for COVID-19 patients has reached 90 percent. This condition is due to the increasing number of cases.

"The availability of beds for COVID-19 patients in all hospitals has reached 90 percent," said Deden in Indramayu, quoted by Antara, Monday, June 14.

Deden said of the 226 beds available in all hospitals in Indramayu Regency, 203 of them were already occupied by COVID-19 patients.

According to him, a number of hospitals that have been referrals for COVID-19 patients in Indramayu Regency, including the MA Sentot Hospital, Pertamina Balongan Hospital, Indramayu Hospital and Bhayangkara Hospital, are almost full.

"The Indramayu Regional Hospital is already full, but we will add more," said Deden.

As a measure to anticipate the limited availability of beds due to the current surge in patients, the COVID-19 Task Force asked all hospitals to increase their treatment capacity to 30 percent of the normal number.

Deden added that the soaring number of COVID-19 patients was due to several factors, including the effect of large crowds and entertainment everywhere and the lack of public awareness of compliance with health protocols.

"The most dangerous thing right now is the public's indifference to the dangers of COVID-19. They are ignorant, so they don't really care about COVID-19," he said.
