Rizieq Shihab Drags Ahok Until Diaz Hendropriyono, Prosecutor: Not Connected!

JAKARTA - The Public Prosecutor (JPU) said that the memorandum of defense or pleidoi Rizieq Shihab which dragged a number of names such as Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok to Diaz Hendropriyono was inappropriate or not connected. In fact, Rizieq is said to be very easy to blaspheme against others.

"Emotions without control and linking other people in defense that have nothing to do with them at all. Among them is the Ahok case, also connecting with Abu Janda, Ade Armando, Denny Siregar, apart from that, connecting with Diaz Hendropriyono, all of which have no connection," said the prosecutor at the trial at the East Jakarta District Court, Monday, June 14.

In addition, the prosecutor also considered that the pleas that Rizieq had submitted were merely his complaints. So, all of these things should not be contained in the plea.

"The defendant should have described his frustration, this is not the place," said the prosecutor.

In fact, the prosecutor emphasized that in the eyes of the law there is no difference between religions. Because, there are clear rules, namely, the 1945 Constitution.

"In the judiciary, not only Islam, but all religions that have been outlined in Law 45 that everyone must receive the same position of punishment," said the prosecutor.

For information, Rizieq Shihab continued to sing, dragging a number of names while reading the memorandum of defense or plea. One of them is Diaz Hendropriyono.

Rizieq said that Diaz, who was the former General Chair of the PKPI, was strongly suspected of being involved in the massacre of 6 special troops of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) in December 2020.

In addition, Rizieq also touched on the case of blasphemy against Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok and the case of watering a senior KPK investigator Novel Baswendan.

According to him, the two cases are also the demands given to the defendants are still below the charges against him. On this basis, Rizieq considers the prosecutor to have made the case of prokes violation a major crime.
