MATARAM - The Central Lombok Police have named a man who works at a salon with the initials HJ as a suspect in a case of sexual abuse of seven boys and detained him for the purposes of investigation.

Head of the Public Relations Section of the Central Lombok Police, Iptu Lalu Brata Kusnadi, said the suspect had been detained at the Central Lombok Police detention house.

"We have determined the suspect and detained him in the detention center," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 6.

According to Brata, the results of the investigation showed that the suspect was suspected of committing the act repeatedly by giving money to the victims.

Investigators obtained information that the victims, aged 13-15 years, received money ranging from Rp. 50 thousand to Rp. 100 thousand from the suspect.

The case was revealed after one of the victims told a teacher about the alleged act he had experienced.

The information was then known by the victim's parents and reported to the police until it was handled by the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Central Lombok Police.

Brata said investigators were still investigating the case to complete the evidence and ensure all facts related to the case.

In this case, investigators applied the presumption based on the Sexual Violence Crime Act (TPKS) and/or the Child Protection Act.
