Vice President Vance Says US-Iran Negotiations Will Go a Long Way

JAKARTA - US Vice President JD Vance said that negotiations on a deal with Iran would be tough and time-consuming. Vance said Iran was a very difficult people to deal with with a divided system.

"Our job is to manage the situation and achieve the best results for the American people, as well as for the President of the United States," he said in an interview with Fox News on Wednesday, August 5 evening local time, reported by CNN.

"And in my opinion, in the end, the end result is what you see, the price of oil today is in the range of 79 US dollars. The price of oil will go down and stay low. Iran will never have nuclear weapons, and the United States will be in a stronger position," said Vance.

"However, at this time we are still in the middle of the process, and I think people tend to rush to judge how this will end," he continued.

Vance's statement comes amid Iran's denials that they are negotiating with the US.

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi earlier said Iran had not decided whether to move towards implementing the memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran.
