JAKARTA - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk continues to accelerate the transformation of BRIvolution Reignite as a foundation to strengthen the Company's competitiveness while creating greater value creation for the national economy.
As part of the Danantara Indonesia ecosystem, BRI ensures that every step of transformation not only generates healthy and sustainable business growth, but also expands its contribution to the people's economy through financing of productive sectors and support for various government priority programs.
BRI President Director Hery Gunardi revealed that BRIvolution Reignite is an integrated transformation framework that serves as a reference for the Company in strengthening business fundamentals, improving competitiveness, and creating sustainable benefits for the country, society, shareholders, and all stakeholders.
"BRIvolution Reignite is designed to ensure that BRI is able to grow healthier, more efficient, and competitive, while still consistently fulfilling its role as a bank that is pro-people's economy. This transformation is part of BRI's commitment to deliver greater value creation in line with the strategic direction of Danantara Indonesia," said Hery.
The transformation is based on two main pillars supported by six enablers as drivers of change throughout the organization. The Transform the Funding Franchise pillar is aimed at strengthening BRI's funding structure to be more efficient, stable, and based on cheap funds through strengthening CASA and increasing transaction banking capabilities.
Meanwhile, the pillar of Revamp Existing Core and Build New Core is focused on strengthening the distribution of microcredit (core business) as well as building a consumer banking growth engine (new growth source) that is able to meet customer needs and industry dynamics.
The implementation of the transformation is reflected in the Company's performance which continues to show improvement. As of the first quarter of 2026, BRI Group's total assets grew 7.2% year-on-year to Rp2,250 trillion, while credit and financing increased 13.7% to Rp1,562 trillion. In the same period, the Company's consolidated net profit was recorded at Rp15.5 trillion. In terms of funding, Third Party Funds (DPK) reached Rp1,555.1 trillion or grew 9.4% year-on-year, which also contributed to the decline in the cost of funds from 2.98% in the first quarter of 2025 to 2.33% in the first quarter of 2026.
These increasingly strong fundamentals are an important capital for BRI to expand its intermediation function as well as increase its contribution to the national development agenda. One of these contributions is realized through the distribution of People's Business Loans (KUR). As of the end of June 2026, BRI has disbursed KUR of IDR 103.81 trillion to 2 million MSMEs in various regions of Indonesia. The distribution is dominated by productive sectors that are in direct contact with people's economic activities, with the agricultural sector reaching 869,285 debtors or 42.68% of the total KUR recipients, followed by the trade sector with 647,440 debtors or 32.34%.
In addition to being a driving force for the distribution of national KUR, BRI also holds a strategic role in supporting the 3 Million House Program. As of June 2026, the distribution of BRI Subsidized KPR has reached IDR 18.39 trillion to more than 134 thousand debtors. Meanwhile, around 97% of the total financing was channeled through the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) scheme which has reached around 131 thousand debtors, where as of June 2026, the distribution of FLPP throughout 2026 has reached 19,075 units or around 32.8% of the target of 60 thousand units.
In terms of housing provision, as of July 19, 2026, the realization of the distribution of the Housing Program Credit (KPP) reached IDR 10.7 trillion or approximately 89% of the 2026 distribution target of IDR 12 trillion. This financing reaches business actors in the housing provision sector as well as the public as home buyers, so that it is expected to be able to strengthen the housing ecosystem as well as create a multiplier effect on economic activity and labor absorption.
Hery emphasized that the BRIvolution Reignite transformation is not only aimed at strengthening the Company's performance, but also ensuring that every growth achieved is able to provide a real impact on society and the national economy.
"With the support of all Insan BRILiaN, public trust, and synergy with Danantara Indonesia, BRI is optimistic that it can continue to maintain a healthy and sustainable performance, as well as strengthen its role as a driver of the people's economy," concluded Hery.
On a separate occasion, Danantara Indonesia Chief Operating Officer Dony Oskaria emphasized that the transformation of SOEs is not only aimed at improving the company's current performance, but also building a foundation for long-term sustainability in line with President Prabowo Subianto's direction.
Although the transformation has encouraged an increase in the performance of a number of SOEs, Dony emphasized that the success must be supported by the sustainable development of human resources.
According to him, strong leadership is the key to ensuring that the company continues to grow and is able to face future challenges.
"What really differentiates a CEO from a manager is his commitment to sustainability rather than a company," said Dony. (ADV)
