Puan Maharani Brings Additional COVID-19 Vaccine For Mas Gibran During Kunker To Solo

JAKARTA - Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, brought an additional dose of COVID-19 vaccine for Solo residents, led by Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka. This is done to help the government accelerate the national vaccination program.

In addition to Solo residents, additional COVID-19 vaccines were also distributed to communities in Boyolali, Klaten, Sukoharjo. The total additional vaccine that Puan brought was 20 thousand doses.

"This is to encourage the acceleration of vaccination. Because there must be an acceleration of vaccination so that COVID-19 can be controlled more quickly, in order to stop the spread of the corona virus," said Puan during a working visit quoted from her written statement, Saturday, June 12.

During her working visit, Puan participated in reviewing the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination at the Solo City Hall. There were 690 people who participated in the vaccination today, consisting of teachers, elderly residents, people with disabilities, street vendors, tourism players, media workers, and other people.

After reviewing the administration of the vaccine, the chairman of the PDI-P DPP then had a dialogue with Gibran and the Regents of Boyolali, Sukoharjo, and Klaten. Three regents were present virtually.

At that time, he asked regional heads to be open to the conditions for handling COVID-19 in their respective regions. Thus, determining steps in handling the pandemic can be easier to do.

"Convey the problem honestly, don't hide the condition of the area, so that we can anticipate and mitigate it. The main principle is that we want all citizens to be vaccinated. Don't let there be areas that are not handled properly," he stressed.

Puan said the government had stated that the total COVID-19 vaccine had so far reached 93 million doses. The government has also targeted that in June the vaccination will reach 700 thousand per day and in July it will reach 1 million per day.

So, to get this target, local governments that have received vaccine doses must immediately distribute them.

Furthermore, Puan also asked that vaccination should be carried out immediately in order to prevent an explosion of COVID-19 cases such as what happened in Kudus, Central Java. This also applies to the areas of Solo, Sukoharjo, Boyolali, and Klaten where the implementation of the vaccine has only reached 11 percent.

"Please take care, don't let the incident in Kudus spread to other areas. People should not be afraid of being vaccinated, and keep the health protocols even though they have received the vaccine," he concluded.
