JAKARTA - The Bandung City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) has banned all McDonald's (McD) outlets in the West Java capital from promoting products that cause crowds of buyers or consumers.

Head of Investigation and Enforcement of the Bandung City Satpol PP Mujahid Syuhada said the banned products were not specifically for BTS Meals, but also for other products that could potentially cause crowds during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"If BTS Meals are banned, that's not necessarily the case, it could be another promotion that will cause a crowd," Mujahid said as quoted by Antara, Saturday, June 12.

According to him, now the McD outlets in the city of Bandung have agreed not to resell BTS Meals which have been busy ordering recently.

The BTS Meals fast food product is a collaboration between McD and the South Korean boy group, BTS.

So far, according to him, three McD outlets in the city of Bandung were temporarily sealed because they caused an uncontrollable crowd. The three McD outlets are in Buahbatu, Cibiru, and Kopo.

In addition to causing crowds, according to Mujahid, the three outlets have a large stock of BTS Meals products.

"The three are Cibiru, Buahbatu, and Kopo Mas. Because the packages have the most stock in those three points, so that's what we seal, the rest are just disbanded," he said.
