MEULABOH - The Assistant to the Government of Aceh and Kesra (Assistant I) of the Regional Secretariat of Gayo Lues Regency, Aceh, H Nevirizal has submitted his resignation from his position effective Thursday, July 23 after a video of his son flexing (showing off wealth) went viral on social media.
"I made this decision with full awareness and responsibility due to the emergence of public attention regarding the behavior of my family members which has caused controversy and has affected public confidence in the institution where I serve," wrote Nevirizal as quoted by Antara, Thursday, July 23.
In a follow-up interview, Nevirizal said the resignation letter had been handed over to Deputy Regent (Wabup) of Gayo Lues H Maliki in Blangkejeran, because the regent was on duty outside the area.
