Vice President Gibran Serap Aspires Teachers, Promotes School Improvement in Riau

JAKARTA - Vice President (Wapres) Gibran Rakabuming absorbed the aspirations of teachers from SDN 016 Serusa Parit Aman, Rokan Hilir, Riau to encourage rehabilitation of his school building so that the learning process can run more optimally.

Vice President Gibran's visit to SDN 016 Serusa Parit Aman on Friday (17/7) began with a comment from a teacher named Desi Pradipta in one of the Vice President's social media posts who conveyed the condition of his school which was far from being worthy.

"I commented on IG Mr. to come to our school at SD 016 Serusa and thank God Mr. responded, and finally Mr. came to our school today," said Desi explaining when the Vice President reviewed his school as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, July 18.

According to him, the presence of Vice President Gibran brought a glimmer of hope that the school where he served would be improved so that it would be more worthy and the learning process would be more optimal.

"Hopefully this school will be more advanced with the arrival of the Vice President, Mr. Gibran Rakabuming. Hopefully this school can also be improved, that is our hope as teachers here, the children too," said Desi.

Concerned about the condition, the Vice President then held a direct meeting with the parents of the students.

"This is an old school, so many of its alumni have contributed well to the village and the country," said Muhari Siregar, whose children are in grades 2 and 6, in a dialogue with the Vice President.

According to Muhari, the Vice President said he would help rehabilitate schools because he considered so much damage to the roof, ceiling, walls, and school doors.

"The building is already fragile, the building is tilted, the field for extracurricular activities is difficult, the field for ceremonies is also," he said.

Apart from school problems, the Vice President also gave the opportunity to parents, most of whom are farmers and fishermen, to convey various difficulties they face today.

"Other things, for example, our complaints about the availability of solar, road infrastructure to farms will also be followed up. So also includes subsidized fertilizer, subsidized fertilizer will be provided next. Because until now we have also had difficulty getting subsidized fertilizer in our village," he said.

The visit reflects the government's commitment to respond directly to the aspirations of the people, even to the most remote areas, in line with the spirit of Asta Cita President Prabowo.

The improvement of educational facilities and supporting infrastructure is expected to further strengthen efforts to improve human resources quality as well as encourage equitable development.
