KPK Refuses Report of Rejection of Envelope from Kuansing Regent by Menhut Raja Juli

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) rejected the rejection report of the envelope submitted by the Minister of Forestry (Menhut) Raja Juli Antoni.

This was conveyed by Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring of the KPK, Aminuddin, when confirming the final results of the verification that had been carried out by the KPK's Directorate of Gratification and Public Services.

The envelope was given by the non-active Regent of Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Suhardiman Amby when he had an audience with Raja Juli Antoni.

"KPK rejects the RJ gratification report," said Aminuddin when confirmed by reporters, Friday, July 17.

Aminuddin explained that this rejection was carried out in accordance with the Corruption Eradication Commission (Perkom) Regulation Number 1 of 2026 concerning Gratification Reporting.

"It is stated that the KPK rejects the gratification report if the gratification reported is already within the scope of the inspection, investigation, and investigation by law enforcement officials," he said.

Meanwhile, KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said the Directorate of Gratification and Public Services had completed the verification of the report on the rejection of gratification from the Minister of Forestry (Menhut) Raja Juli Antoni, which was submitted after the hand-in-hand operation (OTT) in Muara Enim Regency. This process is based on Article 14 of the Corruption Eradication Commission (Perkom) Regulation Number 1 of 2026.

"So in prevention related to the gratification report made by Mr. Menhut, this case is closed," said Budi.

Furthermore, the receipt of this envelope is said to be handled in the field of enforcement. "Because in the construction of the case, the Regent, after collecting money from the parties, then this money is given to the Minister," said Budi.

"This is certainly investigated by the intention, purpose, initiative of who, the motive for what, everything will be investigated by the investigators."

As previously reported, the KPK named three people as suspects in the alleged bribery of the filling of the Kuansing Regent's post after conducting a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) on Monday, June 29. They are Kuansing Regent Suhardiman Amby, Kuansing Regent Zulkarnain, and Ardiles as President Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant.

In the construction of the case, Suhardiman allegedly asked for one unit of Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S worth around Rp2.05 billion to the participants of the selection for the position of the Regional Secretary.

The request was fulfilled by Zulkarnain who bought the vehicle through a credit scheme using Ardiles' identity for financing applications.

The KPK also found other alleged receipts made by Suhardiman related to the process of releasing Limited Production Forest (HPT) areas. Investigators are said to be tracing the amount of receipts, the mechanism of giving to the party suspected of receiving at the Ministry of Forestry.

Meanwhile, Raja Juli through a press conference after the silent operation was held, admitted that the Regent of Kuansing Suhardiman Amby had left a sealed envelope after an audience at the Ministry of Forestry on June 2, 2026.

He then ordered his aides to return the envelope on June 5, 2026.

However, the plan was delayed because his aide had to accompany him in the agenda of the service.

Furthermore, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Forestry then issued a letter of assignment to his aide on June 11, 2026.

In addition, Raja Juli admitted that he contacted the Riau Police Chief to help bring his aide together with the Regent of Kuansing. The return of the envelope, he claimed, was made on June 12, 2026 at the Kuantan Singingi Police and was documented and had a receipt.
