PPPK Teacher in Lubuklinggau Allegedly Beats Student with a Stick, Police Hands Down

LUBUKLINGGAU - A PPPK teacher in Lubuklinggau with the initials RP who teaches at one of the state elementary schools in the city of Lubuklinggau, South Sumatra, is suspected of abusing a number of students. This case has become a public concern after going viral on social media and being reported by parents to the Lubuklinggau Police.

Based on the information collected, the alleged persecution was triggered because some students were unable to memorize multiplication material. The victims were allegedly beaten with a wooden bat until they suffered bruises on their hands and feet.

In addition to physical injuries, a number of students were also reported to have experienced trauma due to alleged violence in the school environment. This case also sparked public attention and encouraged the police to conduct an investigation.

The Head of the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Lubuklinggau Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Ipda Dio Firmansyah, confirmed that his party had received a report from the parents of the student who was allegedly a victim.

"Yes, last night there was a report that came into the Lubuklinggau Police. There were five students who came with their parents, but only one report that we received officially. Currently, the case is still in the investigation stage," said Dio.

According to Dio, investigators will examine the reporters, victims, witnesses, and the school to uncover the full chronology of the alleged persecution. The results of the investigation will be the basis for the police to determine the legal steps in accordance with applicable regulations.

Meanwhile, the head of SD Negeri 8 Lubuklinggau, Rusmani, confirmed that the school had received information about the alleged persecution carried out by the PPPK teacher. However, he admitted that he only knew about the incident on Wednesday (15/7/2026) afternoon because he was not at school at the time of the incident.

"I also just found out about the information yesterday afternoon. It just so happened that I had business so I didn't go to school, so I couldn't explain in detail about this incident," said Rusmani.

According to Rusmani, the school has taken the initial step by calling the teacher concerned to provide clarification regarding the alleged persecution of students.

"The person concerned is the class teacher of VI. I have contacted him so that today he will face to explain the chronology of the incident. After that, we will also call the students and their parents to be questioned," he said.
