Malaysia Investigates Issue of Israeli Citizens Entering Its Territory, If Caught They Will Be Deported

JAKARTA - Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has stressed that Malaysia will not compromise and will deport or expel any Israeli citizen who is detected entering the neighboring country's territory, because Malaysia has a clear stance of not recognizing Israel.

Anwar Ibrahim said all related security agencies are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the issue of Israeli citizens being detected entering Malaysia by using dual citizenship documents.

"We are investigating. We do not allow it. If there is, action must be taken. Because we do not recognize them (the country), they will be deported immediately," Anwar was quoted as saying by BERNAMA as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 15.

Anwar's statement was made in response to news that an Israeli citizen who has two citizenship documents and has managed to enter the territory of the State of Johor, Malaysia.

Anwar emphasized that the problem was being handled by the authorities and the results would be immediately submitted to the relevant ministries.

Previously, the Johor State Government urged the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) and related agencies to investigate the "Network School" operation in Forest City, Johor State, which was allegedly attended by Israeli citizens.

The Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, said the Israeli citizen was suspected of using a passport from another country to enter Malaysia to participate in the program.
