After Fajr Prayer With Ridwan Kamil, Anies Joins The Rice Harvest In Sumedang

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan participated in the rice harvest activity in the rice fields of Mekarwangi Village, Tomo District, Sumedang Regency, West Java. This was done after the morning prayer with the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil.

Anies said the reason he attended this activity was to prove the seriousness of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in increasing regional cooperation, especially in the food sector.

"We just had a big harvest. This is our joint effort so that on the one hand, the farmers here get a higher selling price for grain, while the residents of Jakarta get an affordable price of rice. So, every family or household in Jakarta can rest easy if food prices are stable, because the amount of supply is safe," said Anies at the location, Friday, June 11.

According to Anies, Jakarta has a large debt of gratitude to other regions. This is because the residents of Jakarta need food supplies, especially rice, to meet their daily needs.

Therefore, the collaboration between DKI Jakarta BUMD PT Tjipinang Food Station and Sumedang BUMD PT Kampung Makmur can mutually improve economic conditions among farmers and guarantee the rice stock needed by Jakarta residents.

"This is our way for urban communities to return the favor to the farmers. Because they are the ones who have been working quietly and unseen, but we feel the benefits," explained Anies.

"Hopefully with the current cooperation, the farmers will prosper and we in the capital city can get affordable and stable prices. Thank you, Mr. Regent (Sumedang) and the farmers," he continued.

Anies also had time to greet residents and families of farmers who live in the location of the rice field area. At the same time, Governor Anies was also seen taking the time to talk to some of the farmers there, so that they continue to be enthusiastic in helping meet the food needs of the community.

Before participating in the rice harvesting activity, Anies attended the morning prayer in congregation with Ridwan Kamil at the Sumedang Grand Mosque. Kang Emil, as Ridwan Kamil is known, witnessed the collaboration between the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and the Sumedang Regency Government in terms of agriculture and food supply.
