JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has allowed state civil servants (ASN) in the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government environment to accompany children to school during the implementation of the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year.

ASN who take advantage of the policy are allowed to start working hours at the latest at 12.00 WIB.

The policy is contained in the Regional Secretary Circular (SE Sekda) Number 22/SE/2026 concerning Permission to Send Children to School. The rules apply on the first day of school according to the schedule of each educational unit, namely Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday.

"The DKI Jakarta Government through the Governor's Decree Number 22/SE/2026 regarding permission to accompany schoolchildren, is allowed, namely on Monday and Wednesday, the time is until 12.00, it has been regulated in detail," said Pramono at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Monday, July 13.

This policy is a follow-up to the Circular Letter of the Minister of Population and Family Development/BKKBN Number 17 of 2026 which encourages the involvement of parents, especially fathers, in child care. Even though they are given flexibility in working hours, ASN is still asked to ensure that public services and the completion of official duties are not disrupted.

"The principle is that the DKI Jakarta Government fully supports the activities of sending children to school by their parents. So, ASN is allowed for that," said Pramono.

Continuing, the Special Staff of the Governor of DKI Jakarta for Social Communication, Chico Hakim, claimed that the policy was part of the DKI Provincial Government's commitment to support a balance between work and family responsibilities.

"We want ASN fathers and parents to be able to attend calmly at the important moments of their children, the first day of school after a long holiday. This is a simple but meaningful step to strengthen family ties, without reducing the quality of service to Jakarta residents," said Chico.

To utilize the permit, ASN is required to submit a written application to their immediate supervisor. They must also attach proof of real-time photos using a timestamp application, before the permit information is entered into the e-absensi system by no later than July 17, 2026.

The implementation of the policy will be supervised by the immediate supervisor and the Human Resources Management Officer in each local government, while the implementation report is scheduled to be submitted to the Governor through the Head of the Regional Human Resources Agency by no later than July 20, 2026.
