Indonesia's Carbon Emission Reduction Efforts Are Being Spotlighted by the World, Prabowo: This is History

Karawang - President Prabowo Subianto said that Indonesia is currently being highlighted by the world for its seriousness in making the transition to clean energy and its commitment to reducing carbon emissions.

This was conveyed by President Prabowo when launching the Mandatory Biodiesel B50 Program at the KM 57 Rest Area, Karawang Regency, West Java, on January 9.

According to him, this historic achievement shows Indonesia's ability to realize energy independence while leading carbon emission reduction efforts. According to President Prabowo, this spotlight is inseparable from various government breakthroughs in realizing energy independence.

President Prabowo also said that the global community had learned about the launch of the B50 program, which is a fuel consisting of a mixture of 50 percent biodiesel based on vegetable oil and 50 percent solar, which is expected to significantly reduce carbon emissions.

Based on data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), the implementation of B50 is estimated to be able to reduce carbon emissions by 44.46 million tons of CO2 by 2026, an increase from 39.66 million tons of CO2 in the implementation of B40 which was launched in January last year.

President Prabowo hopes that the reduction in carbon emissions will be even greater after the government realizes the construction of a total capacity of 100 gigawatt (GW) of solar power plants (PLTS), which is targeted to be completed in the next two years.
