Chairman Of Surabaya Regional House of Representatives, Cak Awi, Is Positive For COVID-19

SURABAYA - Chairman of Surabaya Regional House of Representatives, Adi Sutarwijono, announced that he was positive for COVID-19 based on a PCR-based swab test.

"Yes, I am positive for COVID-19. Please pray for me, and I am currently recovering," he said, as quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 10.

Cak Awi, as he is familiarly called, said that in general, his condition was good, and there were no significant clinical symptoms.

"I just need to rest. I was also given vitamins and some medicines by the doctor," he said, who is also the chairman of the Branch Executive Board (DPC) of PDI Perjuangan Surabaya.

He admitted that he did not know the chronology until he was exposed to COVID-19 because during this week there were several events, including who was infected and who infected.

Cak Awi admitted that he had contacted a number of colleagues who had met him in the last few days.

This information, he said, had also been conveyed to health workers so that contact tracing could be carried out in accordance with the procedures for handling COVID-19.

"I have contacted several friends who had met me. To anticipate everything, I asked to do a PCR swab test. I also conveyed information to health workers so that tracing, and if anyone was positive, treatment could be carried out according to the procedure," he said.

"Similarly, the Surabaya DPRD building, according to the SOP so far, sterilization is routinely carried out in rooms and vehicles," said Cak Awi.

He again invited the public to always be strict in carrying out health protocols.

"I've tried and disciplined health protocols, maybe when I'm careless, such as when eating with friends. Anyway, we still have to be disciplined," he said.
