JAKARTA - The Ministry of Defense (Kemhan) has decided to shorten the time for discipline and leadership training for participants in the Indonesian Development Drivers Bachelor (SPPI) for the Red and White Village/Subdistrict Cooperative (KDKMP) program to only two weeks.
Initially, the basic military training (latsarmil) which was directed for the reserve component (komcad) lasted longer. However, Deputy Minister of Defense Donny Ermawan said that the training concept was replaced with the National Defense Training and the duration was also cut.
"The place of learning, the place of education remains in the 67 satdik (TNI education unit), only the time has changed. Well, that is related to us having revised the program," said Donny as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 1.
After the National Defense training is completed, according to him, the participants will focus on managerial education for one month. Later, participants will be educated by the Ministry of Cooperatives and also the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), in accordance with the village cooperative program and fishermen's cooperatives.
"From the Ministry of Cooperatives, they have prepared the modules, as well as those from the Ministry of Manpower, who have also prepared learning modules," said Donny.
He said that this was the result of the evaluation carried out by the Ministry of Defense on the latsarmil program because five SPPI participants died.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Dave Laksono, said that the Red and White Cooperative program has the intention to have a major impact on the growth of the national micro and macro economy.
Therefore, he asked that the program be run properly so that it does not have a negative impact on the government's image and also on the sincere intentions driven by President Prabowo Subianto.
