JAKARTA - Patients who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 in Kulon Progo Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, added 65 new cases, bringing the total during the pandemic to 6,387 people.
"The change in the COVID-19 situation as of June 10, 2021, as many as 65 confirmed cases," said a spokesman for the Kulon Progo COVID-19 Task Force, Baning Rahayujati, in Kulon Progo, Thursday.
He said the 65 new cases were spread in the Districts of Galur, Girimulyo, Lendah, Sentolo, Samigaluh, Panjatan, Pengasih, Kalibawang, Kokap, Nanggulan, Girimulyo. Today's addition, from 12 sub-districts, only Temon District has no additions. Daily additional cases occurred in Galur District with the addition of 14 cases from 65 new cases.
"The high number of additional COVID-19 cases is due to low public awareness of implementing health protocols by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands. We hope that people not to be careless," he said.

Based on data from the Kulon Progo Health Office, a total of 6,387 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with details of 61 hospital isolation, 411 self-isolation, 5,261 completed isolation, 533 recovered and 121 died.
There are five of the 12 sub-districts with the highest confirmed cases of COVID-19, namely Pengasih 862 cases, Wates 856 cases, Sentolo 712 cases, Kokap 640 cases, and Panjatan 602 cases.
Baning said that today's high increase in cases has resulted in an increase in the number of neighborhood units (RT) that are included in the yellow zone. Currently, the number of RTs with the yellow zone status is 174 RTs, and the orange zones are five RTs.
"We remind the village-level task force to again provide socialization to the community to comply with health protocols," he said.
The chairman of the Kulon Progo COVID-19 Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling, Fajar Gegana, reminded residents of 5M, starting from wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, staying away from crowds and limiting mobility and interaction.
