JAKARTA - Associate Professor of the National University (Unas) Prof. Firdaus Syam appreciates the various transformation steps taken by the National Police under the leadership of National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. According to him, the changes made over the past few years have been seen in the institutional, technological, and police facilities and infrastructure aspects.

The statement was made by Firdaus after becoming a recipient in the launch of General Listyo Sigit Prabowo's book, The Architect of PRESISI Polri, by Ali Ramadhan in Jakarta, Wednesday, June 24.

"First, we must admit that the steps for change taken by Mr. Listyo Sigit Prabowo have been carried out a lot, such as at the structural, institutional levels, then IT-based programs, facilities and infrastructure," said Firdaus.

However, Firdaus assessed that the transformation needed to be continued with the strengthening of organizational culture so that it was more in line with public expectations of a professional and humanistic police institution.

According to him, changing the culture can be achieved through two main paths, namely education and internal consolidation.

"How will the police be able to become more humane, independent, and professional," he said.

He emphasized the importance of the education process for prospective members of the National Police to continue the values and good practices that have been built through the PRESISI concept. In addition, internal consolidation is also needed so that the police function remains focused on the main task of maintaining public security and order, providing protection, and enforcing the law.

On the same occasion, Firdaus also appreciated the presence of General Listyo Sigit Prabowo's book, The Architect of PRESISI Polri which he considered to provide a comprehensive overview of the concept of PRESISI and the direction of institutional transformation of the police.

"This book written by brother Ali Ramadhan is very meaningful and important to get closer to knowing the concept of PRECISION which is strongly attached because it is led directly by Mr. Listyo Sigit Prabowo," he said.

According to Firdaus, the book not only reviews the figure of the National Police Chief, but also elaborates in detail the vision of PRESISI, the challenges faced by the National Police, and the prospects for the development of the Bhayangkara institution in the future.

Ali Ramadhan's book is divided into two main parts. The first part raises the theme of Foundation and Vision which discusses the career journey and the concept of PRESISI transformation. While the second part is titled *Disruption of Democracy and the Future Bhayangkara Corps*, which discusses the challenges of the police in facing the dynamics of democracy and the digital era.

The launch of the book was also attended by political analyst Boni Hargens who wrote the book's prologue, as well as a number of academics and civil society activists who pay attention to police institutional reform.
