BANDUNG - The West Java High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) examined Deputy Regent of Indramayu Syaefudin as a suspect in the alleged corruption case of housing and transportation allowances for members of the Indramayu Regency DPRD in the 2022-2025 fiscal year.

Head of the Legal Information Section of the West Java Prosecutor's Office, Nur Sricahyawijaya, said the examination was carried out by the investigators of the Special Criminal Division (Pidsus) of the West Java Prosecutor's Office in accordance with the summons letter that had been sent to the suspect.

"According to the summons letter that we sent to the suspect S, the West Java High Prosecutor's Office investigation team is temporarily conducting an examination of the suspect in the field of Pidsus Kejati Jabar, where the suspect is accompanied by legal counsel," said Cahya in Bandung, Monday, June 22, reported by ANTARA.

According to him, this examination was the first time that Syaefudin was examined as a suspect, after previously not meeting two calls from investigators.

"For the second invited suspect," he said.

In this case, investigators have also named two other suspects, namely officials in the environment of the Indramayu Regency DPRD Secretariat with the initials IM and AF.

Cahya said investigators were still investigating the case through the examination of the suspects and did not rule out the possibility of developing the case.

"While there are no (new suspects), because the investigation process is still ongoing," he said.

According to Cahya, based on the results of the calculation of state losses from the Financial Audit Agency (BPK), the case caused state losses of around IDR 18 billion.

"Regarding this alleged criminal act of corruption, according to the results of the calculation of state losses from the BPK, the value reached approximately Rp. 18 billion. The person concerned at that time was the Chairman of the Indramayu Regency DPRD and now is the Deputy Regent of Indramayu for the period 2024-2029," he said.
