JAKARTA - The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that the US military disabled a ship trying to transport Iranian oil by firing two missiles into its engine room.

CENTCOM said the M/T Jalveer, which flies the Guinea-Bissau flag, was trying to transport oil from Iran through the Gulf of Oman in violation of the US blockade.

"The US aircraft fired two Hellfire missiles into the engine room of the ship after the crew repeatedly failed to comply with orders from US forces," CENTCOM said in a post on X, reported by CNN, Thursday, June 11.

The incident marked the third time the US has disabled a vessel this week, according to the post. In total, the US has disabled nine vessels and diverted 135 others.
