GARUT - A member of the Garut Regency DPRD from the PDI-P faction (PDIP) Dudeh Ruhiyat has died due to contracting COVID-19. Dudeh had undergone medical treatment at Dr Slamet Hospital.

Garut Deputy Regent Helmi Budiman confirmed this sad news. According to him, Dudeh had contracted COVID-19 and had co-morbidities.

He explained that the board member had undergone intensive medical treatment in the isolation room of Dr Slamet Garut Hospital since it was discovered that he had tested positive for COVID-19.

The Deputy Regent admitted that he had seen firsthand the condition of the council member who was undergoing medical treatment while conducting a direct review of the COVID-19 positive isolation room at Dr Slamet Garut Hospital.

"Yes, he was treated at the hospital and treated for several days, only there were comorbidities (comorbidities)," he said.

He said that during this pandemic, COVID-19 can attack anyone, so all elements of society need to increase vigilance to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 by complying with health protocols.

Especially at this time, he said, cases of COVID-19 transmission were increasing in Garut since the Eid holiday season.

"Anyone in the community can be affected, we have also been careful because yesterday we had Lebaran, there was a holiday," said Helmi Budiman.

The chairman of the DPC PDIP Garut, Yudha Puja Turnawan, confirmed that his cadre, Dudeh Ruhiyat, who currently serves as a member of the Garut DPRD, has died.

The council member, he said, had been buried in a public cemetery in the Cilimus area, Bayongbong District, Garut with the funeral process implementing health protocols.
