JAKARTA - Actor Omar Daniel revealed the process of research and deepening his character for the film Time Maghrib 2. In this film, he plays an adult Adi character, a character who previously appeared as little Adi in the first film Time Maghrib.

"For research, as mentioned earlier, Mas Tata, it is very free to give us a very large space for us to explore acting and also to develop our respective characters," said Omar Daniel at the Gala Premier Film Time Maghrib 2 in Kuningan, South Jakarta, Wednesday, May 21.

Although Adi's character was introduced earlier in the children's version, the director, Omar said, gave no strict restrictions on the repainting of the character.

"Even though it was Maghrib 1 as a small Adi, Mas Tata did not oblige me to follow 100 percent of his movements or like his body language," he explained.

For Omar, the most important thing is to maintain the emotional continuity of Adi's character which has brought trauma from childhood to his adult life.

"The important thing is that the emotions are still the same because Adi's character brings a package from his past which is indeed quite deep, deep trauma that he brought to Maghrib 2's Time," he said.

To deepen his role, Omar conducted various studies, including rewatching the first Maghrib Time film and consulting with a psychologist.

"For research, I must have watched Maghrib 1 Time again, then I also had time to research with friends and there were also psychologists who asked about the background, what kind of basic people are they," he concluded.
