JAKARTA - The United States House of Representatives (DPR) has approved a bill (RUU) on assistance for Ukraine and sanctions against Russia based on the results of the vote.

The bill, which was submitted in April 2025, was supported by 226 members of the DPR, while 195 other members rejected it.

As reported by ANTARA from Sputnik Friday, June 5, the bill establishes the establishment of a Ukrainian recovery fund as well as renewing the president's authority to lend or lease defense assets to Ukraine and Eastern European countries.

In addition, the draft also mentions the extension of the authority of the US Department of Defense to provide security and intelligence assistance to Ukraine until the end of 2027, as well as requiring the US Department of State to take steps to strengthen the armed forces and border services of the Baltic states.

The bill also authorizes the US president to evaluate the situation in Russian-Ukrainian relations and take restrictive measures, including sanctions, asset freezes, and additional export duties.

The bill must be approved by the Senate in order to be enacted.
