Head of BGN Nanik S Deyang Focuses on MBG Budget Efficiency

JAKARTA - Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Nanik Sudaryati Deyang stated that the improvement of the management of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) 2026 program began by optimizing budget efficiency.

"The first thing we are concerned about is efficiency, so even though it is now only Rp268 trillion, we hope we can still reduce it, but not reduce quality," he said in a press conference in Jakarta, Thursday, June 4, reported by ANTARA.

He emphasized that the budget efficiency step was carried out in various fields. BGN focuses on three things, first, re-focusing (restructuring) beneficiaries.

"Second, a moratorium on new kitchen points, and third, the renovation of kitchens that have stood and have been operating to meet standards to produce quality food, including the improvement and training of human resources in the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG)," he said.

If the MBG kitchens do not comply with the standard operating procedures (SOP), BGN will firmly suspend or suspend.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the MBG program was a great trust that must be carried out with full responsibility.

This was conveyed by President Prabowo when attending the National Consolidation of the MBG Program which was initiated by BGN at the SICC, Bogor, West Java, Wednesday (3/6) with the theme "500 Billion Meals Challenge: Building Indonesia's Future Generations Through Nutrition - An Inspiring Session".

He emphasized that all MBG program implementers have an important role in ensuring that the benefits can be optimally felt by the community.

"(Giving) food is a noble job for us and this must succeed, it will succeed, you are an important part. But, if you don't want to work well, you have to step aside, if you don't work well, if you don't want to, please step aside. The important thing is the people's interests above all interests," he said.
