JAKARTA - The Regional Directorate General of Immigration Office (DK) Jakarta will immediately deport a foreign citizen (WNA) from England who did not want to pay after eating at a cafe in Central Jakarta.

"We received information that a foreign national was staying at a hotel in the Tanah Abang area. From this information, we carried out the pursuit and arrest of the person concerned," said Head of the Regional Office (Kakanwil) of the Directorate General of Immigration DK Jakarta Pamuji Raharja as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 3.

The video that went viral on social media on Monday (1/1) showed a foreign citizen wearing a white T-shirt and blue shorts who did not want to pay for food.

From the video, said Pamuji, his party immediately carried out a search starting from the scene of the crime at one of the eating places in the Central Jakarta area.

Then, from the location, information was found that a foreign citizen was staying at a hotel in the Tanah Abang area.

Pamuji said that after successfully securing foreign nationals who did not want to pay for food, his party carried out an in-depth investigation.

"From the investigation, it was found that the foreign citizen had the initials ZNB from England," he said.

Then, the team traced ZNB's travel history to Indonesia. From traffic data management, it was known that ZNB arrived in Indonesia after landing at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Denpasar, Bali.

"ZNB arrived in Denpasar on April 16, 2026, then immediately took care of the Visa on Arrival," he said.

Then on May 21, it was known that ZNB went to Jakarta and stayed at one of the hotels in Tanah Abang.

After being arrested and information was excavated, said Pamuji, ZNB was handed over to the Immigration Detention House (Rudenim) to be deported to his home country.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Central Jakarta Immigration Office, M. Iqbal Ma'ruf, appealed to all hotel, apartment and hostel owners who accommodate foreign nationals to immediately report through the foreign person reporting application (APOA).

This is done so that every foreigner in Central Jakarta is a foreigner who follows the rules that have been set as appropriate.

Iqbal said that there are currently 55 hotel and apartment owners who have made reports regarding the arrival of foreigners.

"I would like to thank the parties who have been active in reporting the whereabouts of foreigners," he said.
