Change of Head of BGN, Dasco: DPR Gives Positive Response

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad gave a positive response regarding the appointment of Nanik S. Deyang as the new Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), replacing Dadan Hindayana.

Dasco emphasized that although the appointment of the Head of BGN was the President's sole prerogative, the DPR saw Nanik S. Deyang's appointment as a reasonable and strategic step to strengthen the institution. He added that his party would soon arrange a schedule to meet and coordinate with the new BGN leadership.

"I think Commission IX will immediately coordinate to find out the planning of the new BGN leadership to improve and then to make the governance at BGN better," he said at the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 2.

Dasco said Nanik had a good performance during his previous tenure as deputy head of BGN. This is an important note for the DPR RI, especially the technical commission concerned which continues to monitor the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program.

"We have seen that so far, Bu Nanik is the deputy head of BGN who has not been there for a long time, but then Bu Nanik has done a lot of field work, monitoring the field, and also closed many kitchens that do not meet the requirements in the field," said Dasco.

Dasco said that President Prabowo Subianto's decision to appoint Nanik was the right choice. Dasco also appreciated the replacement of the head and deputy head of BGN carried out by the government. According to him, the replacement is a tangible form of the government listening to the aspirations of the community as well as the input of the DPR.

Dasco hopes that with the evaluation carried out by the government of the BGN leadership, the institution can continue to improve and serve the community through the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program better.
