JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto has appointed Nanik S. Deyang as the new Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) to replace Dadan Hindayana.

"For the future, the President has decided to appoint sister Nanik S. Deyang as the new Head of the National Nutrition Agency," said Secretary of State Prasetyo Hadi, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 2.

Prasetyo conveyed that President Prabowo also appointed Agustina Arumsari as the new Deputy Head of BGN to replace Lodewijk Pusung and Major General TNI Trenggono as the new Deputy Head of BGN to replace Sony Sonjaya.

He said the decision to change the leadership of the BGN was taken by the President after monitoring and evaluating the agency's performance for approximately 1.5 years.

According to him, in carrying out daily duties, the President continues to monitor and evaluate the performance of the entire cabinet, including BGN, and receives various inputs from related ministries, the public, and beneficiaries of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.

"The President continues to listen and get input from various parties, both from related ministries and from the community, including from beneficiaries of the free nutritious meal program implemented by the National Nutrition Agency," said Prasetyo.

He explained that BGN has a strategic role in supporting the government's agenda to improve the quality of people's nutrition.

Therefore, the institution requires strong governance, effective cross-sector coordination, and leadership that is able to ensure that all programs are on target, on time, and in accordance with the principle of accountability.

Prasetyo conveyed that the government thanked Dadan Hindayana, Lodewijk Pusung, and Sony Sonjaya for their hard work in building the foundation and developing BGN.

The government hopes that the new leadership of BGN can immediately carry out internal consolidation, strengthen cross-ministerial and inter-agency coordination, and improve coordination with local governments at the provincial and district/city levels.

"We all hope that the new leadership can accelerate the implementation of priority programs, improve performance, improve organizational governance, and provide tangible benefits for the community. especially in terms of efforts to improve the quality of nutrition, health, and human resources in Indonesia," said Prasetyo.
