JAKARTA - PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Pelni) confirmed its readiness to become a partner of international cruise ships through professional ship agency services, after successfully supporting the operation of the MV Odyssey cruise ship in Indonesia.

"Pelni is committed to being a reliable strategic partner in supporting all international shipping activities in Indonesia," said Pelni Corporate Secretary Ditto Pappilanda confirmed in Jakarta, Saturday.

Pelni through the ship agency service successfully supported the operation of the MV Odyssey cruise ship while in Indonesia.

The cruise ship with a size of 24,344 Gross Tonnage (GT) with a length of 194 meters and 274 passengers first entered Indonesian territory through Komodo Island on April 25, 2026, after sailing from Dili, East Timor.

During its voyage in Indonesia, the MV Odyssey stopped at a number of ports, including the Benoa Port in Denpasar, the Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya, and the Tanjung Mas Port in Semarang.

To support the smooth operation of the ship, Pelni provides a full port agency service which includes handling ship documents with related agencies, providing a package tour on Komodo Island, to shuttle bus services for passengers in Surabaya and Semarang.

Ditto stated that Pelni's support for the MV Odyssey cruise ship strengthens the role of the state-owned company in supporting the national marine tourism industry.

At the same time, it is proof of the company's readiness to provide professional ship agency services for national and international ships, especially cruise ships.

"We are ready to provide comprehensive support ranging from document management, ship operational needs, to hospitality services for passengers, so that international cruise ship activities while in Indonesia can run smoothly, safely and on time," said Ditto.

In addition to ship operations services, the company also collaborated with PT Lamong Energi Indonesia (LEGI) in handling the disposal of greywater from the MV Odyssey of 400 tons at Tanjung Mas Port, Semarang.

Ditto said that this was part of support for ship operations that comply with service standards and environmental management at ports.

He added that his party continues to strengthen the capacity and quality of services to become a reliable partner for international ships in various ports in Indonesia.

As a national shipping company, Ditto added, Pelni continues to strengthen its full port agency services and international ship logistics and operational services in various Indonesian ports.

"We are ready to become a strategic partner for the cruise industry to support the government's target in the development of tourism and the national economy," added Ditto.

Pelni is also continuing to develop professional and efficient agency services, in order to strengthen Indonesia's role as an increasingly competitive maritime country in the Southeast Asian region.
